Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, has welcomed the news that Charmouth will benefit from an investment of approximately £3 million to improve the resilience of local heritage and tourism assets. The seaside town has been selected as a beneficiary of the Coastal Transition Accelerator Programme: Additional Projects. Speaking about the announcement, Mr Loder said:
“This investment is part of the CTAP programme, which is designed to help coastal communities adapt and transition to a changing coastline and climate. I’m glad that I’ve secured this investment for Charmouth, which will go towards improving the resilience of local heritage assets and car parking areas in Charmouth. The CTAP programme is part of the £200 million Flood and Coastal Innovation Programme, which will run until 2027. I look forward to supporting and being involved as the local projects develop in Charmouth.”
