Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, is urging Beaminster and Bridport residents to feedback on the local CB3 Beaminster Community Bus service. The bus provides a connection between the towns, stopping at Melplash and Bradpole along the way. Since 2018, local volunteers have operated the bus service on a Saturday, which is supported by Beaminster Town Council.
Beaminster Town Council are seeking views how important the service is and how it is viewed by users. The information will help the Town Council to gain all-important funding in the future. Mr Loder said:
“I am fully supportive of this bus service; while big commercial bus companies are unlikely to serve the communities of our villages and towns, it is community-run services like the CB3 that enable residents of harder to reach places, such as some of our villages, to access services in the towns. Any feedback users can give will be extremely helpful for the Town Council.”
"I was very pleased to join Cllr Craig Monks on the bus between Beaminster and Bridport earlier in the year. I would like to thank Craig for his hard work, and other councillors who have been instrumental in getting the service up and running over the years. In particular Chris Turner, the late Janet Page, and Alan Dawkins, especially for all their hard work in maintaining and operating the CB3."
For residents wishing to contribute to the survey, a paper copy will be available from The Public Hall, Beaminster, or Yarn Barton information centre. You can also visit: www.discoverbeaminster.co.uk
