A new coach route will link the Dorchester to London this month. From Friday 21st May, the county town of Dorset will be linked to the capital city of the United Kingdom by the new service provided by Megabus.
It will depart from Dorchester shortly after 8.00am to arrive at London Victoria at 1.00pm. A return service will also operate from London Victoria to Dorchester leaving at 2.30pm and arriving at just after 7.00pm.
West Dorset MP, Chris Loder, who sits on the House of Commons’ Transport Committee, has pushed for more effective transport for rural Dorset since his election and has hailed this as a ‘big win’ for Dorset.
The service provides a reliable, cost effective option for travelling to London and provides another boost to connectivity for the South West. The new service will also call at Bournemouth, Poole and Heathrow Airport amongst other stops, and will follow the M3 motorway into the capital city.
Managing Director of Megabus, Mark Venables, said: “We are making day trips and longer stays to visit loved ones and tourist hotspots easier than ever before.”
Travellers are advised to check the Megabus website for travel updates.
