Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, hosted a joint reception in Parliament on the 10th January with neighbouring Marcus Fysh, MP for Yeovil, to recognise and support Leonardo UK as the “Home of British Helicopters.” The event brought together senior leaders, apprentices, and graduates from the pioneering helicopter employer, with key politicians and decision makers that supports hundreds of jobs across the region and particularly in West Dorset. Mr Loder said:
“We are immensely lucky to have Leonardo Helicopters based in nearby Yeovil. They offer so much opportunity and skills. Leonardo is committed to engineering excellence, skills development, social mobility and creating a legacy for future generations. We are so fortunate in West Dorset to have the Home of British Helicopters, Leonardo on our doorstep, which is a significant employer and magnificent contributor to our local economy."
“It’s important that our helicopter industry continues to thrive, and I’ll continually drive for more investment in this sector and our region, especially the award of the contract to build the new medium sized helicopter – the AW149 in Yeovil.”
