Cass Review

Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, has welcomed the publication of the Cass Review into Gender Identity services, which he says demonstrates they are ‘out of control’. Mr Loder and believed that referrals of young children should be stopped until we understand what exactly is going on here in Dorset. The MP who last month called for an investigation into the prescription of puberty blockers for children and young people, is determined to get answers as to why Dorset was in the top 10% of referrals of children to Gender Clinics.

Mr Loder said: “Dr Hillary Cass’ independent review into Gender Identity Services for Children is an eye watering read, especially when we start to understand the lack of evidence and the undue influences that have been brought on children, some primary age, to question their own gender identity and to put them on a medical pathway, including puberty blockers to transition to another gender.”

He added: “The stories some Dorset parents have shared with me are shocking, especially about certain Dorset-based organisations being given unfettered access to children with subsequent referrals to the Tavistock Clinic in London without parental knowledge, let alone permission. I shall be relentless in getting to the bottom of what is going on here to ensure, more than anything, the safeguarding of our children. We also need to understand the link between the Space Youth Project and the Liberal Democrats locally.”
