Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, visited the Post Office outreach service at Uploders Methodist Chapel on Tuesday 10th October. The popular service started in March and provides mail and personal banking services every Tuesday from 13:15-14:45 in the village. Mr Loder met with local customers and was joined by the Reverend Sue Wilson. Mr Loder said:
“The Post Office outreach service is kindly hosted by Uploders Methodist Chapel every Tuesday. It is evident from my visit how important this service is to the residents of Uploders and the surrounding areas; it is convenient, supports cash and card, and eliminates the need to travel far to access postal and banking services.”
The local MP continued: “I recently supported the installation of a new BT line into the Chapel, which has demonstrably improved connectivity. I’m grateful to Teresa Smith of Beaminster Post Office for enabling the outreach at Uploders, and I’ll work with the Post Office to look at the feasibility of establishing other such services.”
