Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, visited Leonardo UK in Yeovil on Monday 22nd August to recognise the site as being the “Home of British Helicopters”. The company employs hundreds of people from across the West Dorset constituency and plays a significant role in the local economy. Mr Loder said:
“It has been a real privilege to visit Leonardo today, which employs many people from the constituency and plays a vital role in the supply of defence and security equipment to the Ministry of Defence. Neighbouring MPs have also attended today, demonstrating just how important British helicopters are to our region.”
“Leonardo also provides highly-regarded apprenticeships, helping young people to enter the workplace, offering careers in cyber security, engineering and business. I’m glad to have met with many apprentices today; the company has employed local people for decades, and it is brilliant that it continues to do so today”
